Moving as One

Taking part in sport or physical activity is not just good for us as individuals, it can have a positive impact on a wide range of social outcomes as well, including building stronger communities. Bringing people together as participants in activity or as volunteers or spectators can help bridge the differences between people and help strengthen neighbourhoods.

Being active also has a positive impact on the nation’s economy: directly through job creation, and indirectly by reducing health spend and reducing crime and social disorder. You can read more about how this impact can be demonstrated on the Sport England website.
